Junk food is just junk. And obviously the food that gave your first heart attack will give you a second one.

It’s shocking that many people who survive a heart attack make little to no lifestyle changes just to go on to have repeated heart attacks. One such thing is continuing a disgusting junk food habit.

Ultra-processed food is a cardiovascular disaster in every part of their existence. They contain minimal whole food ingredients and five or more industrially produced ingredients, so they are completely devoid of nutrients. They are chock full of preservatives, stabililzers, articulate flavoring, refined sugar, salt, and food coloring. In addition, ultra-processed food is packaged in materials full of toxins like phthalates and bisphenols, or in other words, plastics and their liners.

A new study published in European Heart Journal titled “Ultra-processed food intake and all-cause and cause-specific mortality in individuals with cardiovascular disease: the Moli-sani Study”, researchers found that high consumption of ultra-processed food lead to a 66% increase risk of a second heart attack or stroke in those who have already experienced a prior episode.

Additionally, the study found 40% increase in all-cause mortality in those with high intakes of ultra-processed food.

The study was a longitudinal analysis of 1171 men and woman over 10.6 years utilizing food frequency questionnaires.

Sadly, 60% of the average person in the United States is made of up of highly processed food.

Processed food, particularly of that of ultra-processed food, is completely devoid of nutrition and full of toxins. The role of ultra-processed food does not serve as a source of sustenance. Its main goal is to provide high profits by the way of cheap, low quality, yet addictive food to the population by the way of convenience, taste, and preservation for transportation.

So, you, as a man, must be able to differentiate what is healthy and what is not. If you are a unable to give up the unhealthy diet, your repeat heart attacks and stroke is no one else’s fault but your own. In addition, as a man, a provider for your family, it is absolutely your duty to make sure what is on your family’s dining table nourishes your family and not poison them because when they get sick from the food you provide, it is your fault.
