The sovereignty and richness of a nation and its land is tied specifically to it’s wildlife and nature preservation as the more nature is preserved, in addition the vast amount of beautify provided, it also leads to stable land and climate, and richer resources.
Researchers published their study in journal BioScience, as a follow up to President Biden’s America the Beautiful plan with a recommendation of restoring two keystone species, the gray wolf and the North American beaver, in 11 large reserve areas owned by the federal government and also cessation of livestock grazing on federal lands.
Restoring the North American beaver and the gray wolf will lead to a cascading effect of further benefits to the American wilderness ecosystem.
In regards to the North American beaver, the authors wrote, “by felling trees and shrubs and building dams, beavers enrich fish habitat, increase water and sediment retention, maintain water flows during drought, provide wet fire breaks, improve water quality, initiate recovery of incised channels, increase carbon sequestration, and generally enhance habitat for many riparian plant and animal species.”
Wolves, in turn, are a keystone species in population control of ungulates, leading to improved vegetation in the area.
According to the authors, their rewilding plan can benefit “92 threatened and endangered species across nine taxonomic groups: five amphibians, five birds, two crustaceans, 22 fishes, 39 flowering plants, five insects, 11 mammals, one reptile, and two snail species.”
Nature preservation and respect for wildlife, and not their destruction, is what makes America beautiful while also maintaining the safety and sovereignty of its people. Nature and wildlife preservation is what men of honor do.
