Published in JAMA Cardiology, researchers determined that high amount of sitting time led to increased risk for all-cause mortality and major cardiovascular disease, doesn’t matter if you lived in a rich or poor country.

Researchers examined 105,677 adults between the ages of 35 to 70 years old across 21 countries of high, middle, and low income over a median follow-up of 11.1 years.

They compared sitting less than fours a day to eight hours a day. Sitting eight or more hours a day led to 17 to 50% increased risk of all cause mortality and cardiovascular disease despite what how rich the country is.

Sitting all day is probably one of the worse things you can do for yourself. Your health is true wealth.
